    Excellent operation, but lack of support

    Operates at advertised speeds, has a RJ45 console port for local management, has two 1gb/s SFP ports, and 24 Fast Ethernet interfaces. The only thing I have to complain about is that Cisco expects you to pay for updated copies of iOS, so I'm stuck with a version containing known vulnerabilities.

    Great switch for a great price.

    It's a Cisco router/switch with 1 gig ports and the capability of having 10 gig SPF+ ports. What's not to like?!? So it's no longer supported by Cisco. That's what makes its price point so sweet. You're getting a $3,000 switch for about $100. Sure it's used, but the seller has done a great "refurb" on it, cleaning it, making sure the fans and all the wear items are still serviceable. I will get years of life out of this switch in my home "lab". It's perfect for the wanna-be network engineer that wants to learn hands-on. Would I deploy this switch in a production environment in my datacenter where outages cost money? No. But for just about any other use it's a perfectly capable switch for a sweet price.
