The weight is held by a magnet and the weight fell several times at medium shock/ hit to the steel ball. Looking at the photo; I thought the ball was connected to the SoftBand by screws which will have strong connection and didn't pay attention that it was Magnetic connection.

Sometimes the magnet can twist while being put in the tube - making it less effective and giving results you are experiencing. I'd suggest finding the weakest of the 2 magnets and try re-inserting it while trying to keep the polarity straight, as this usually resolves this issue.
