Escape from Warsaw
A very interesting story about a family that goes through camps during the war. The children are separated from the family and the story basically tells you of the times they are separated and how they try and reunite. It's heartfelt, makes you very aware of what it was like to have lived in Poland during the war, and we just found it to be very meaningful as all of our great grandparents or parents served during that war. I'm glad after reading that the war was over there and not here. What those children went through at such a young age is amazing.A very interesting story about a family that goes through camps during the war. Escape from Warsaw by Ian Serralier
This is a great book for kids! I was first introduced to it at the age of 9, it was part of the school curriculum at the time. It is a well written book depicting the German Invasion of Warsaw and follows the lives of several children in the midst of it all, from a childs perspective. I loved this book from the moment I read it, and although I am now 39 years old, it still remains one of my favourites. A great history lesson for kids, without the ungly grafics from the adult perspective. A must!This is a great book for kids! Read this book as a boy, was given to me as a gift. The first book I ever really enjoyed. Never read any books I got from school, all were boring and un-interesting. Not this one! I loved it, so much in fact I still remember reading it and how much i loved it (even aftyer 45 years ). I found it online and bought it for my 12 year old son to read. The only problem was his grandmother borrowed it and read it in one day, said she "couldn't put it down".
