    Great Pre-Shave Beard Softener

    I’ve used Proraso Red (Barbes Dures) Pre/Post Shave Cream for several years now. Red in the product description shows it’s for coarse beards. (Proraso also make blue, white, and green creams to suit other different skin / beard types.) I don’t necessarily have too coarse a beard but being in my 70s I only tend to shave once a week for the sake of my, now very thin, skin. This is why I use this cream as a pre shave beard treatment – it softens my heavy stubble beautifully prior to shaving. So, this product ticks all the boxes for me – good clean shave, no irritation, pleasant aroma, competitively priced, and economical to use. Which is why I’ll continue to use it!

    Light, covering and easy to work with

    This is a product that fits me rather well. I have rough stubble but also some areas with extra sensitive skin so I benefit from a thorough massage of the skin with a pre shaving cream. I also make sure to follow it up with a hot towel to really help the cream do its work. The cream is slick enough to be easy to work with but, when using it on my skin, it leaves an almost dry layer of product on my fingers and seems to have lost all of its silky feel. I would not be surprised if this is a result of the combination of my skin type and hand dryness but it takes away that last bit that would have made it easy to rate it five stars.

    A good shave

    I have used pre shave oils before. But I have changed to Proraso. As I think it makes my single blade razor. Glide I've my face better. Especially when I have not shed for a few days. It is a good product and worth the money I pade for it. It can also be used as an after shave balm too

    The best men's pre and post shave cream!

    Proraso is truly a God-sent! It has vastly improved my very sensitive skin and made wet shaving much less painful. I would recommend this cream to both newcomer as well as experience wet sharvers.

    Helped with the shaving

    Applied this before the proraso shaving cream, and it helped alot with the shaving! the first shave was preety awesome, but the 2nd and 3rd was bad as usual since i only applied the shaving cream. Did also tried it as an after shave balm and worked really well. love the smell too!
