  • A book for background more than strategy

    Well written with complex phrases to require parsing of every idea, but it is another pro-indexing tome that argues for the superiority of average investment returns as the best you can do. Just be aware that to be average, if you consider that success, you must NEVER invest at the top of the market, in fact the only time you should commit substantial new capital is after a crash. This book considers such market timing to be impossible, undoable, ill-advised. Investing more on a regular basis after a crash, and less after a long runup would seem an easily achievable solution to this problem, and super dividend blue chip ETFs would seem a good bet relative to bonds and generic index funds. I sure didn't see that in this book, though I'd bet it made many financial planners happy and remains ...
