All the Audubon field guides are excellent resourses with pictures and text on every species you may encounter. The Florida edition covers everything I will need to know about preserves animals and trees when I visit the state.

I highly recommend Audubon Florida Field Guide for identifying life in FL
This field guide is perfect for those living or visiting Florida. I have been able to find all things great, small, and living in my home state. The pictures are vibrant and the information is just what I expect out of a field guide. Thankfully I also have The Nature Handbook that gives all the detailed information that my 10 year old son craves.

For anyone who lives or travels to Florida, this book is a must to help you identify the different and unique wildlife and foliage. The book is compact so it fits right in your back pocket, yet it's loaded with photos and descriptions of many of most popular animals, reptiles, trees, flowers and even insects. I discovered that what I thought were geckos running around everywhere were actually Skinks and Anoles which are cousins to the gecko. (which might explain why I could seem to buy car insurance from them. :) The book is well worth the money and a joy to read.For anyone who lives or travels to Florida, this book is a must to help you identify the different and unique wildlife and foliage.
