Beginner birding book
After reading all of the reviews, I had high expectations but too similar to the Peterson books to be of much value. Was looking for something different. Needs pictures of the bottom of birds i.e. when looking up from the ground. Perhaps more for a beginning birder.

LOVE,LOVE,LOVE the book is so easy to use , and very well made, I highly recomend this to anyone that is looking for knowledge about birds of north america, I had about 8-10 of the most beautiful birds I had ever seen before , I didn`t know why they were here for a short time . come to find out from the book , they are red brested groosebecks. they were on their way back up north and stopped by for sun flower seeds their favorite, they will be back here to Tn.in the fall to stop over for food on their way south. I'm a moderately experienced birder & found this book very helpful, as it shows birds in a variety of plumages, which many books lack. It also has tips for identifying birds, attracting birds, how to choose binoculars, and even a list of organizations that support bird preservation! The photographs are wonderful, and the color coded pages easily distinguish different bird groups to make your "what was that?" search quick and easy. A must have book for Bird Watchers.
Wonderful photos and descriptions, that help me identify new birds in the forest and along my shore walks. I snap a photo with my phone and compare the pictures when I get home. I have learned a great deal from this book. A Must have if you are a bird watcher, or a backyard bird feeder. It helps to know what birds you are feeding to purchase the correct seeds and treats.
