About this product

Product Information

This inspirational New York Times bestseller chronicles the lifelong friendship between a busy sales executive and a disadvantaged young boy, and how both of their lives were changed by what began as one small gesture of kindness. Stopping was never part of the plan... She was a successful ad sales rep in Manhattan. He was a homeless, eleven-year-old panhandler on the street. He asked for spare change; she kept walking. But then something stopped her in her tracks, and she went back. And she continued to go back, again and again. They met up nearly every week for years and built an unexpected, life-changing friendship that has today spanned almost three decades. Whatever made me notice him on that street corner so many years ago is clearly something that cannot be extinguished, no matter how relentless the forces aligned against it. Some may call it spirit. Some may call it heart. It drew me to him, as if we were bound by some invisible, unbreakable thread. And whatever it is, it binds us still.

They were, you could say, just noise-the kind of nuisance New Yorkers learn to tune out.' A moment later, when she came to, she returned and invited her new acquaintance to lunch at McDonald's, the beginning of a human connection that would change both their lives. Compelling & thought-provoking

Once I started reading "An Invisible Thread" I could not put it down. The story is so remarkable. As a result, I ordered five more books and sent them off to relatives and friends. Their feedback and feelings echoed mine, and they are now passing their copies on to friends.

  • Charity or Kindness?

Excellent Book, a true story. We can all learn from it. It is time to take care of our own backyard. These big so called charities take your donations and where does it really go? Into the pockets of executives and all their perks! How about them donating their time from their primary employment, if they have one. I believe it is all about greed on the backs of the american public and other businesses that probably get a tax write off for their donantions and it benefits their bottom line? What do you think the real motive is? That is my opinion and you do not have to agree! I really recommend this book for any and all to read, as it is really all about kindness and how a small gesture can impact the life of the recipient.

  • Great reading

Everyone should read this book. The whole world would be a better place. We would actually be helping people that would otherwise not have great opportunity’s in their lives.

  • Amazing eye opener

It sheds a new light on the homeless, especially children. There’s a merging of two lives, one with almost nothing and one with plenty to share. Love is found in the least expected places.

  • excellent reading choice, a must read, a must buy, a great book to recommed

The book was given as a gift..I can only say it was an excellent read...I read the book in one sitting, couldn't put it down..If I did I would have had to begin my snow removal project in that my area was in the mist of a blizzard....My point being once I started this book it was difficult not to turn the pages...
