    Inca gold

I have always been a fan of Clive Cussler. I have also collected signed copies of his books. We lost a very good author with his passing. Hopefully his son will continue with his books.

  • Dirk Pitt : Suspend your Disbelief!

I first tried a Dirk Pitt novel while travelling in China. I had seen the movie version of "Sahara" and liked the characters, the setting, NUMA (the fictional government organization Pitt works for) and the spirit of adventure at the heart of the story. So in an airport I picked up "Inca Gold" at random and within a heartbeat I was transported to the world that Clive Cussler has created for his hero Dirk Pitt- and what followed was a wild ride, indeed. With his love interest (different for each adventure) and his sidekick (the same throughout the series) Dirk dives underwater, fights with bad guys, flirts with death- but triumphs every time. In Inca Gold the plot is outrageous, the mystery not very mysterious, but the "Indiana Jones" quality of the good hearted hero carries the day- and ...

  • A Long Book

quite a long book story with lots of names to get confused over. Would have enjoyed the book better if it wasn't so long with so many escapes for the heros.

  • Dirk Pitt Does Not Appear in a Bad Book

As usual, Clive Cussler is "on" again in this adventure featuring Dirk Pitt. Dirk Pitt is my favorite character of all time. He's cooler than Indiana Jones (not afraid of snakes, or probably anything) and I imagine him more handsome than James Bond. Combine them both and they probably still wouldn't stack up. This adventure is as engaging as any other by Cussler and the writing is amazing. This is a page turner and wonderful book. The only caveat I will add is that in order to really enjoy this book, you probably have to love adventure. Like I mentioned above: think Indiana Jones, but way better.
