  • My Body For Life

    I bought this book on the recommendation of a friend. The "before and after" pics inside of the cover are inspiring and encourage you to open the book and start reading about how these women achieved their amazing results. The book is full of motivational stories of women who've successfully used Pam Peeke's plan to "remove weight" and keep it off, thereby improving their health. The author uses the word "remove" as opposed to "lose," as one generally attempts to find something that they have lost, something you don't want to do with weight. I just finished the book and can't wait to get started on the plan, in order to find my "body for life."

  • BFL for Women...Disappointing

    I must admit, I have been a HUGE fan of Bill Phillips' Body-for-LIFE program. His original book was clear, concise and straight to the point, even for beginners. I was eager to read Dr. Peeke's version designed specifically for women and the many issues that we face as we age. There are many interesting parts of her book which include the various stages that women go through and how their bodies change, but I was really disappointed in her "dumbed down" version of the actual program. I could have done without all the "girlfriend" references, too. I hate to suggest this, but it seems that Dr. Peeke was more interested in riding the coat tails of a very well established, successful program in order to make a quick buck.   • Body For Life For Women

    A guy I work with suggested I buy the original Body for Life because that is what he used. After searching on e-bay, I saw there was one geared for women. I found a listing that just happened to offer both books. I am about two-thirds through the book For Women, and find it very informative. I like how it covers phases of a women's life and how age changes your body's reaction to diet. I love the motivational stories, I skipped to them immediately. I would highly recommend this book to any woman wanting to take care of her body and health. It is a great concept and gives you all the tools you need to achive your goals. All you have to do is follow it.

    The book is filled with wonderful information for women of ANY age. She informs us as to why women are shaped the way we are throughout the decades for our lives. It would be a wonderful resource for teenagers so they could build a healthier body. So many people do not worry about their bodies until later in life when it is harder to make it healthy again. The 12 week program is a simple program to follow as far as the food program and the exercise suggestions. The program can be customized to fit your lifestyle from 20-30 minute exercise sessions to more intense workouts. Highly recommended regardless of age!!

    I am a man. I have personally been living the Body for Life program for 15 weeks, and have lost 40 lbs of scale weight! When my sisters expressed interest in it, I went to Ebay to find them copies of the book. Instead, I found a version of the book especially geared for women! This is the tried and true Body for Life eating and exercising program, specifically from a WOMANS point of view. If you are a woman, and want a program that WILL achieve results..and you are willing to do the work..then this is the book for you!
