About this product

Product Information

Knitting and life. They're both about beginnings--and endings. That's why it makes sense for Lydia Goetz, owner of A Good Yarn on Seattle's Blossom Street, to offer a class called Knit to Quit. It's for people who want to quit something--or someone --and start a new phase of their lives. First to join is Phoebe Rylander. She recently ended her engagement to a man who doesn't know the meaning of faithful, and she's trying to get over him. Then there's Alix Turner. She and her husband, Jordan, want a baby, which means she has to quit smoking. And Bryan Hutchinson joins the class because he needs a way to deal with the stress of running his family's business--not to mention the lawsuit brought against him by an unscrupulous lawyer. Life can be as complicated as a knitting pattern. Just ask Anne Marie Roche. She and her adopted daughter, Ellen, finally have the happiness they wished for. And then a stranger comes to her bookstore asking questions. Or ask Lydia herself. Not only is she coping with her increasingly frail mother, but she and Brad have unexpectedly become foster parents to an angry, defiant twelve-year-old. But as Lydia already knows, when life gets difficult and your stitches are snarled, your friends can always help

  • Can you knit your troubles away?

This is I believe the 5th book in the Blossom Street series by Debbie Macomber. This is a series of stories about a woman who has a Yarn Shop on Blossom Street and how her knitting classes are therapy for women and Men from all different lifestyles. The classes bring together a rather unusual group who end up being friends and supporters of one another. The books also include people from the other business on Blossom Street - the Flower Shop, the Bakery, etc. Great stories about love, adoption, death, and work. Highly recommend this series to women young and old - there is someone from every age group and background in the Blossom Street series. Maybe you will decide to take up knitting or crocheting or some hobby and see if you can Knit your troubles away.

  • Summer on Blossom Street by Debbie Macomber

Debbie Macomber has the ability to draw her readers into the stories she writes. She makes the characters come to life in everyday living experiences, so you are able to relate to the events that are happening with each and every person. In this book, I was sadden to learn that "Maverick" had died (from a previous book in this series), but glad that Alix was able to come to term with her ideas about motherhood, Lydia and Brad's ability to overcome the anger that a foster child has to deal with, Phobe's restraint of family pressure to reconcile with Clark to find true happiness with "Hutch". There is more characters involved in this story that leads to happiness, saddness, disappointment and life altering decisions. Once you pick up this book you will want to read the other books in this ...

  • SUMMER ON BLOSSOM STREET

Debbie Macomber does it again in the Blossom Street series. She provides entertaining story telling about the interesting characters from the previous Blossom Street books. You can pick up any of Debbie's books from the series and catch up on the background events. I prefer to read them in order: The Shop on Blossom Street, A Good Yarn, Back on Blossom Street, (20 Wishes), (Susannah's Garden), and Summer on Blossom Street. The detail in the books makes you feel like you know the characters like real people. Each book leaves you wanting more. If you enjoy this series as much as I do, try Debbie's Cedar Cove Series next!

  • Another Great Read from the Series

Well another great book to read from the Blossom Street Series. It continues the great story lines of the people that make up Blossom Street. One thing Debbie does in her stories is add new people to the neighborhood by opening a new store. This book will be a fast read for the fan of Debbie's, I enjoyed it and could not put it down, as I wanted to know what will happen to the people I've come to know on Blossom Street. Pick it up if you get the chance and you'll want to read the whole series.

  • Summer on Blossom Street

I'm hooked on Debbie Macomber's books. I've read a dozen or more in the past 8 months and this was just as enjoyable as all the others. I finish one and can't wait to start the next. I feel like I know the characters personally. Each book ends always leaving me wanting more. The stories never seem to end, they just flow into the next book, and the next, and the next...I just bought two more and can't wait to start reading.
