About this product

Product Information

A PBS Great American Read Top 100 Pick The Giver, the 1994 Newbery Medal winner, has become one of the most influential novels of our time. The haunting story centers on twelve-year-old Jonas, who lives in a seemingly ideal, if colorless, world of conformity and contentment. Not until he is given his life assignment as the Receiver of Memory does he begin to understand the dark, complex secrets behind his fragile community. Lois Lowry has written three companion novels to The Giver, including Gathering Blue, Messenger, and Son.

Well, it arrived on time, but I was surprised to see the self-sticking tabs (14 of them) and the penciled-in writing on the tabbed pages. The condition is all right, but it just feels like a little effort could have been made. It's a little like borrowing it from a friend and he/she wants me to make note of his/her observations. Honestly, a bit disappointing from the seller, but maybe I am picky.

  • Not "very good" quality

I wouldn't say that this book is "very good" quality. There is a lot of spine damage, it looks like someone got hungry and chewed on it. The pages are clean and that's what is most important I just feel a bit mislead about the quality.
