- *****- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseI am truly impressed! This blade is really great quality for the money! The condition it arrived in was new in thr box! The value for the money... well worth what you pay as the original has been discontinued and aftermarket prices are soaring! The Appearance is accurate to the original! Sheath has no compression spring to hold the blade in and the blade has a thermoplastic buttcap, but make no mistake, this blade is tough!
- *****- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseDefinitely not the same knife I carried from 85-93 while serving in the coast guard. Blade is similar, but, the butt cap on my old one. Was a thick, flat piece, of solid, blackened, corrugated steel. This one is plastic, you won’t be hammering anything with this knife. The one I had in 1985 was $35, this one is $35. I guess you have to cut corners to keep it cheap. Handle seems like it will break in your hand. Other than that, decent knife, very slow to ship. But shipping was inexpensive.

Quality seems excellent and cost less than half that of the original which is no longer available. The sheath is an exact match also, and my one small complaint is that there is no retention of the knife other than the nylon strap (which seems quite secure when domed) but apparently the original offered a strong retention from the plastic sheath as well. Overall very pleased with the product.
