I have Epilepsy and I love this movie alot. :)
I have Epilepsy and I can really relate to this movie and I felt so bad that Robbie the little boy had to go threw all that and that the medication didn't work and that his Mom found another way to make him better without having Brain Surgery and I love that it is a true story I love those kinds of movies and I have watched this alot it is My Most Favorite Movie. :)

I SAW THIS TRUE STORY MOVIE YEARS AGO AND WAS INCENSED AT THE "MEDICAL TREATMENT" THIS EPILEPTIC BOY ENDURED ALONG WITH HIS FAMILY WHO WERE DOING EVERYTHING THEY COULD TO HELP HIM. WHEN HIS MOTHER'S RESEARCH LED HER TO A SPECIAL DIET THAT HAD WORKED FOR MANY CHILDREN WITH EPILEPSY, I WAS SHOCKED THAT THE DOCTORS REFUSED TO RELEASE HER SON FROM THE HOSPITAL INSTEAD DEMANDING RISKY SURGERY THAT COULD HAVE LEFT THIS BOY PERMANENTLY BRAIN DAMAGED. THE PARENTS SEEMED TO HAVE NO ALTERNATIVE BUT TO KIDNAP THEIR OWN SON OUT OF THE HOSPITAL IN ORDER TO TAKE HIM TO A SPECIALIST AT THE MAYO CLINIC. Everybody needs to see this movie!
This is an amazing movie that is based on a true story. After watching it, look up the fifteen minute interview by the real father and also the speech by his son after he's grown. We should all be asking the question--Why are medical decisions based on how much money will be made by the drug companies and not by what is good for the patient? ESPECIALLY when its a helpless child!
