    Fresh approach to a basic truth of the spiritual path.

    Eckhart Tolle presents a spiritual truth that is thousands of years in concept but aimed at the modern world. He presents a transformational spiritual truth in the context of our fading materialistic value system. An old set of transcendent values in the language needed to reach the needs of a faltering social environment. These are concepts to take us to the next stage of evolution and heal the past.

    I LIKE THE NEW WAY OF THINKING, WHICH I HAVE BEEN DOING FOR SOME TIME. ITS REFRESHING TO HAVE SUPPORT AND AND ACKNOWLEDGMENT THAT "ALL IS ONE" AND TRUTH IS WHAT ITS ABOUT, THAT THERE REALLY IS NO GOOD/BAD ONLY TRUTH WHEN EVERYTHING ELSE IS CLEARED AWAY. I BOUGHT THE BOOK FOR ITS KNOWLEDGE, TO REMIND ME WHAT I FORGOT, AND TO GET MORE UNDERSTANDING FOR THE TIME I AM IN THE MID-WEST, LEARNING VERY DIFFICULT GROWTH SPURTS. I GREW UP IN IOWA BUT SPENT MY ADULT YEARS UP TO 53 IN CALIFORNIA . UPON MY RETURN HERE I HAD NO IDEA HOW HARD IT WOULD REALLY BE. KINDA LIKE THE ALCOHOLIC WHO GOES BACK HOME, ALL THAT WAS NOT SETTLED OR ACKNOWLEDGED COMES FLYING UP LIKE DEMONS FROM THE PAST. THESE VOICES OF TERROR AS A CHILD RETURN AND START CUTTING ME DOWN WITH WORDS LIKE LIGHTNING TO THE HEART. ...

    Heavy reading...but worth it.

    you definitely have to be in the mood to read this book, without interruption. the reading is heavy, and many paragraphs have to be read more than once to grasp what tolle is saying. BUT...i had several "AHA" moments when reading the book. i was recently in a near-tragic auto accident 5 months ago. luckily my husband and our twins made it out ok. i on the other hand BROKE MY BACK. i've had 2 surgeries already and the road has been long and painful. this book is just what i needed. even before reading the book, i had a totaly NEW OUTLOOK ON LIFE since surviving the accident. the doctors told me i should've been paralyzed (or killed) on impact from the injury i suffered (burst fracture)...apparently, i beat the odds. so i am definitely a more positive person now ...

    A Great Study Tool for those who wish to be enlightened

    I have been looking for answers and explanations for decades. This book is a combination of things I have learned from, Wayne Dyer, Neale Donald Walsh, John Gray, Gandhi, and the endless list of enlightened authors I have read over the years. I do not believe everything I read, hear, or that I was taught as a child. I have learned to listen to many opinions and ideas, take what I want, and leave the rest. After struggling for many years and praying for answers, Eckhart Tolle shed some light on who/what I we really am. I always knew I was not, just, my human body. I have had experiences in my life that most would not believe. After reading A New Earth, I have a better understanding of why I am here, what I am seeking, and how to continue.     A New Earth

    This book made me think, that I liked. The fact that it is not new information but a blend of Christian principles, Eastern religions & New Age doctrines was informative but not life-altering. Tolle begins with flawed information, (Darwin's brand of evolution), and moves into some very vague and gray areas with not much in the way of explanation. One of the statements Tolle writes has been tossed around regularly as though it came from some other-worldly source. "Evolve or Die" sounds extra-ordinary but if reality is your bag - and it is mine - facts are, evolve or not, we're all going to die, the enlightened and the ignorant alike. 'Tis the fate of man.
