The Most Dependable HDD
I replaced my first hard drive about 8 years ago and had problem after problem after replacing it twice with other brands. I replaced it the third time with a Seagate and never had another problem. Since that time, I have replaced several hard drives in different computers I have and have had and I have not had any problems because I always use a Seagate. This hard drive is quiet and very fast (the 7200 rpm model) for a disk drive. Sure a SSD is probably much faster but then you have the cost difference. For the cost, you can't get a better hard drive than this one. Great upgrade for my old drive
This doubled the size of my hard drive in my laptop and it was easy to install. I've loaded all the added all my software and it runs as fast as the original and has tons of free space. Great purchase when my original died.

GREAT LITTLE DRIVE FOR USE IN EXTERNAL ENCLOSURE
I bought this to replace a 500mb Hitachi drive that failed after only 13 months of use. I use this in an external enclosure to physically carry large amounts of data between different Mac computers (don't like iCloud!). Right out of the box -- after formatting -- this drive worked just fine. Hope this one lasts long than the Hitachi which only lasted for 13 months! (We'll see.)
