    An investment with a great return!

    I bought this because we buy in bulk from Sam’s and from farms and fish houses when products are in season. A lot of the products we buy we can’t eat them before they start to go bad or freezer burn sets in. The Food Saver is easy to use and we have vacuum sealed using the bags and the can lid method too. We haven’t had it long but already it looks like it will get a lot of use and we are already building up a nice pantry with it. I use the term ‘we’ but actually my wife has taken it over, she really enjoys working with it.. it might become her new hobby?

    Food Saver 5400

    First vacuum sealer I have own and I am glad I bought it. I. Have never liked freezing food until now. I vacuum sealed 1/2 of an avocado in a vacuum ziplock bag and was amazed that it was not brown thre next day like it would be if it were just in a plain ziplock bag. Great product. I like the fact that there are vacuum seal canisters.

    Do you really need all in one

    First question should be do I really want/need a all in one unit ? They are big so they take up more space. That also makes for more to clean and maintain.they also cost much more. Foodsaver is a great brand in my opinion . However I find a simple vacuum sealer only unit works best for me and I have been using vacuum packing extensively for decades.

    AWSOME MACHINE

    We love the 5400. It will seal the bottom of the bag before you cut the bag to length. Plus I can seal zip lock pre cut bags and vac- canister's.
