"Me Talk Pretty Some Day," by David Sedaris is a good example of his style of writing and sense of humor.

This book has been on my "to read" list for quite a while. Luckily, our book club wanted to read some of his work. I was very happy to be able to buy a reasonably priced issue since our library is still not open for borrowing.

  • Top critical review

    Humorless, vulgar and offensive book.

Probably the worst book I've ever read. It is written by a self-professed drug addict who clearly was high on meth when he wrote this book! The language is vulgar and offensive to say the least. The humor (if you can call it that) is bland, completely irrelevant to the subject he's speaking of. I read about half (hoping it would improve) before I just couldn't stomach it anymore. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS ONE!

  • In fairness,I may try a later book.

The author Sedaris is well known. But his humor is not evident here. The first ten pages are boring.

  • This is a laugh out loud book.

This is my second David Sedaris book. The first I bought for top price in a bookstore, and after reading it I wanted more from this writer. ebay is a great place to find terrific books, pre-loved but in great condition.
