Paul Giamatti's Highest Achievement
I bought this simply because Dustin Hoffman was in it, and he rarely, if ever disappoints however, he does play a minor character. The main character (Barney) is played by Paul Giamatti, who over the years, in my opinion, has had difficulty finding roles that suit his talent. This movie was written for him. I cannot imagine anyone else in the role of Barney. The movie is a retrospective of a man's life, from that man's perspective. The characters around him are all unique and interesting in their own right, and Minnie Driver deserves kudos for her performance as well. She was perfect as the Jewish American Princess from New York. For an English actress the got the accent and the attitude just right. Overall, I found it entertaining and would feel comfortable recommending it to any adult, who is well traveled, and lived life.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
