Shallow Impact
The purpose of this movie was to wake people up to the consequences of a comet/asteroid strike. Unfortunately, there were too many people syrupy sub-plots. It would have been more interesting if the script was based on more real science and the probable consequences of an extinction-level event. As written, it was about three quarters hollywood love stories. One-eigth of the film was given to pseudo-science, unlikely technological possibilities and wishful thinking about the human response to such a game-changing scenario.
