Shopping for a replacement for my 10 year old Nikon Coolpix 5400 and decided I wanted a more compact camera this time. I looked at quite a few of the small digital cameras before selecting this one. It is not the latest model from Nikon but had the features I wanted. The newer models had wi-fi which I did not need. Newer models also had a 3 inch screen as opposed to this one's 2.7 inch but the control button area was smaller on those. I had read complaints about battery life on this model but so far I've shot over 200 photos on one charge and that's OK for me. I have taken photos of my cats and some items for ebay including close ups for model railroad items. I've been very pleased with the picture quality so far. Nice features that I've used so far and really like are the ability to crop a photo or delete it easily from the control panel. Also it's easy to compensate the lighting.Read full review
Cute, small, light weight, takes great pictures. We did order a separate battery charger that plugs into the wall instead of having to charge the battery through the camera, but that too is a nice extra feature. Easy to work, easy to open the battery and SD compartment.

Truly amazing features and quality in such a small package. This camera is extremely user friendly and can be left in auto mode for simple but high quality point and shoot pictures. The 10x optical zoom is very powerful and on top of that there is an additional 4x digital zoom. For the price I doubt there is a better camera on the market. The 16Mp pictures are amazing !!!
I really like this Nikon Camera. While it has many more functions than I will ever use, it was fairly easy to learn to use. The lag time is a world faster than my old camera and the pictures are much sharper. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a camera in this price range.

I have always wanted a Nikon because of their NiKKor Lens. They are doubtless the best quality lenses available to the regular photographer today. I always settled for a lesser quality camera due to the (initial) cost. Digitalization of photography has leveled the playing field, especially in this point and shoot category. Even on Christmas eve through day; I wasn't able to use up all the battery reserves. I'm still learning more about it's capabilities. I haven't found a flaw yet.
