Effective. Long battery life. No more shaving cream or cuts!

This is the first electric shaver I've used regularly since about 28 years ago. I got tired of getting shaving cuts, and this shaver solves that problem. You also don't need shaving cream or even water with an electric shaver. This product has a comfortable grip and a long battery life. The Long Hair Pop-up Trimmer feature serves its purpose effectively, but it is scratchy on the skin. Another downside (as I guess you might expect from a budget electric shaver) is that it is hard to get a close shave, especially on the neck. This shaver is affordable and reliable but not very efficient. If a pretty good shave is good enough for you, then you might not be disappointed with this product.

Wahl electric razor is just ok

My Norelco electric razor got dull so instead of just buying new heads I bought the Wahl LifeProof Foil Shaver in hopes that it would give me a closer shave. So far it hasn't. I have only had it for about a week and I think it probably takes longer for my beard to adjust to a new razor, but so far it is only fair. Really no improvement over my old one. I think it looks good, it is certainly easy to clean and it works wet or dry. My concern is that it doesn't really work that well wet or dry. I'll give it a few more weeks and keep my fingers crossed.

  • Depends what you're looking for...

I'm a long-term committed user of Braun shavers, so this purchase was a venture out on a limb for me. To me, Braun is the gold-standard for power, comfort, and reliability, which you need if you are a regular shaver and have thick hair. I prefer the slide-up trimmer that Brauns offer (stays in place more reliably) as opposed to the flimsy flip-up trimmers you see with most other brands (Norelco, Remington, etc), which to me is a horrible design. So when I saw this unit from Wahl with the slide-up trimmer, I figured I would give it a shot since all the Braun shavers that I am accustomed to using are either not sold anymore, or the updated models are out of my price range. The pros: Only a couple weeks in, seems to cut okay. Trimmer slides up well and stays in place as it should. Size is good for handling. Grip is comfortable. The cons: Seems very anemic - one can tell from the buzz of the motor, it's just not as powerful as the Braun. This is probably fine if you have thin hair, but not fine if you have thick hair. Gives me the impression it's not going to last long. Trimmer is not very wide Teeth on the trimmer are super sharp/pointy - I can't push in quite as firmly as I'm used to because they will literally scratch the surface of your skin. This slows me down so I can't shave as fast, which is a pain. I will use this one till it dies, which I hope will be longer than I presume, but probably won't buy again.

  • My First Ever Electric Shaver

It's a little early in the process, but after a couple of shaves I have to say it's better than I had hoped. This has all the bells and whistles including a popup trimmer. It came with 2 sets of brushes and lubricating oil so that was a bonus. I typically shave my face, neck and head, and with the Wahl it took about 5 minutes, maybe less for the whole thing. I'm glad I purchased it and hope for many years of faithful service.

  • Wahl Shaver

I have had this shaver for a short time. It appears to be sturdy in construction and I expect it to last for quite some time. The shaver is easy to use and provides an adequate but not overly close shave. From my point this is a good thing. By cutting not so close, there is less irritation and almost zero possibility of cutting close enough to cause bleeding (I am on blood thinners).

  • Best electric of my life

I have owned or used four other electric razors in my 44 years of shaving. Mostly, I am a blade man, but this cuts so close, closer than a much pricier Braun, and a Norelco and a Remington, that I am now using it every-other day and having great results. The Braun quite pulled on a whiskers coming from a mole, and who needs some shot of pain just to shave? But this Wahl does not. I do get a great shave, it seems built for war, and barely needs recharging. I have been very pleased with my Wahl hair clipper, and I am not at all disappointed with their electric razor. Even cuts my brother's hard, thick whiskers.

  • Wahl Life-Proof Shaver Is A Great Shaver At A Fair Price, And Easy To Use

My Uncle was a barber for over forty years in Austin, TX. He has cut the hair of Governors and Presidents. He told me that he preferred to use Wahl products. I have had a Wahl shaver previously, and it cut as well as my previous German shaver, and at half the price. Now that I am older, I like this new model because I can see it better, and it is VERY easy to hold.

  • Wahl shaver

This shaver is great. I really enjoy the engineering that went into this product. Bright yellow to signify that this unit is waterproof. Comfortable to use too. It is still a little way from a razor shave but it is close and I don't have to shave in the shower with it. I can shave while watching TV and be done in about 2 minutes without a mirror. Nice. If I razor shave once a week, I can get away with the electric shaver for the rest of the week. I suggest buying a can of compressed gas to dust things off into the sink and it can be used after every shave, thoroughly cleaning the unit. The micro-sized cut pieces of beard hair will land in the sink and you will be good to go again. I love the yellow color too. Oh yes, the charge seems to last forever too. Buy this razor if you are looking for an alternative to razor blade shaving or just want some fun as it is fun to use while watching TV. Ciao !!!!!

  • Exceptional quality and performance

Smooth shaving and trimming, and gets most of stubble and fine hairs the first pass or two. I charge it one time per week. Easy to clean and maintain. It is one of the best when comparing to the other five that I have had in my years. I also like the travel lock of the power button and the kit (bag, brush, and foil head protector). Overall I highly recommend this product.

  • It's a time (and face) saver

I got an email offering Consumer Reprts-like rankings of certain products. I opened it because they reviewed "best value" on electric razors. It is a great value. I will always have to use the wildly expensive 5 blade manual razors for 15% of my face. But I can shave the other 85% watching TV or reading the paper with this Wahl. As a guy, I don't multi-task well. But THIS.... I can do. Time saving and functional. The last 15% I do in the shower with the Gillette.
