It is a single-player game in the third person perspective. By day, you go to school and build friendships with classmates. By night, you must investigate the mysterious tower called Tartarus, home to creatures called Shadows. Only you and your teammates fight the Shadows and save humanity from their clutches.A mixture of a dating SIM and a traditional action adventure RPG, this third installment of the Shin Megami Tensei games uses tarot cards to symbolize the different strengths of the bonds you form. Depending on the bonds you have, different Personas affiliated with these tarot cards are available to use in battle. Make sure your character balances your friendships with your duties as both a world saver and a student. You need all of your skills to defeat the evil threatening the world.Like previous Shin Megami Tensei games, P3 FES is a traditional turn-based format. You control the player character's action. You also tailor your party's AI to suit your needs. Set your party to conserve MP, focus on healing and support, or go for brutal, vicious assaults at will. Battles are launched by approaching enemies and attacking with swords, bows, and even Personas. Outfit characters with weapons and Persona types by collecting cards at the end of each battle.The day-night cycle in P3 FES is a unique approach to the role-playing game format, even for Shin Megami Tensei. This feature allows players to focus on building social relationships with other characters during the day while exploring an alternate dimension at night. The phases of the moon also have a significant role in your nighttime activities. Enemies grow stronger and more unpredictable the closer you are to the full moon, and some areas of Tartarus are only available during that time.The FES release of “Persona 3” is packed with new content. New summons, in-game events, and a harder difficulty mode are available to play. There is also an all new post-game chapter called "The Answer." This offers a new dungeon to explore, as well as new characters, bosses, and story content. "The Answer" adds an additional 30+ hours to the already well-satisfying and exciting gameplay, making this release an embarrassment of riches. The game is rated M for blood, language, partial nudity, suggestive themes, and violence. New players or returning fans of the series will enjoy an excellent, active, suspenseful game with "Persona 3 FES."

    Two of the best JRPGs on the PlayStation 2

    Persona 3 and 4 expertly mixes dungeon crawling turn-based action and life simulation. The soundtracks of both games are a bit dated in my opinion, but they fit the themes of each game well and will grow on you if you let them. Although Persona 4 improved several aspects of Persona 3’s combat and social system, both games have incredible stories with heavy themes and memorable characters with interesting stories. I highly recommend these titles to any RPG fans.

    I definitely recommend this game!

    I had a lot of fun with this game. Back then, I had never really played any of the mainline Persona games before, mainly just the spinoffs like the Arena and Dancing titles, however, when I decided to play Persona 3 FES, it ended up as one of my most favorite games I had ever played. I had received it for my birthday, and I had been playing it ever since. Thank you for this product!

    Classics

    Absolutely love both games! Both are fun with excellent soundtracks and good graphics for their time--no PS2 Hagrids here! Persona 4 does have bad motion blur but it's still playable. I'd highly recommend playing these two from the Persona series.

    Persona 3 = Revolutionary: radically new or innovative; outside or beyond established procedure

    This game is unlike any RPG I've ever played, there are way to many things to say about it, so I'll just keep it short and simple. It's truly a unique experience that doesn't hold your hand...patience and trying different tactics are crucial if things don't go right the first time in battle. Just try to have fun, make as many friends (social links) as you can, and remember there is always a way to win...enjoy the ride!
