Original battery

I don't think it's worth the price difference to get an aftermarket battery with an APC sticker over the real brand.
I'm sure this battery is fine itself. I can't really accurately review it, because a day after I put it in my APC brand UPS unit...the UPS itself completely stopped working! I suspect that my other battery probably wasn't bad to start with...it was probably just not being charged back up by the UPS. But, it finally got to where the UPS would not even pass wall current to my equipment, and I had to replace the unit with a brand new (also APC brand) unit that is much larger, rated for longer backup time, and uses a battery twice the size of this one. So, basically, I now have a 40 dollar paper weight (because you can't return a used battery...even if it only has one day use on it). Now, here's what I CAN review. This battery has a "sticker" on it that says APC, and has all their info on it, but it's placed over the battery's actual manufacturer's name "VISION Battery", which is silk-screened onto the battery casing. This was at least the second replacement battery for my old UPS, and the last time I used an aftermarket brand (which I believe lasted every bit as long as the one that came in it). So, I have no way to compare to see if the OEM battery was also another brand with APC sticker placed over it. Moral of this story...I doubt I'd ever buy another APC brand battery again, because it's just another brand with a sticker over it, and they charge twice the price to get one with a sticker. I've had another UPS unit that I replaced the battery in several times over the years, always using aftermarket brands, and they always seemed to last the same amount of time as the OEM battery. I also had an alarm system which I used aftermarket brand batteries in, and they too lasted every bit as long as the OEM in that unit as well. I just don't think it's worth double the price to get the brand name.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
