Very Nice Watch
Firstly, let me say that I said no to being a good value because the watch isn't worth what Stauer wants for it. Even with promo codes applied, it is going for around $180 and that's too much. But, that doesn't mean the watch isn't good. Bargains can be found on places like eBay that are a much value. Secondly, for all you other watch nerds out there, let me dispel the biggest unknown about these watches - the movement. All Stauer will tell you is that it's a "China" movement, which tells us very little about it. If you look around online, watch makers have actually disassembled it to try to figure out. Upon removing the balance wheel, underneath is the logo for Dixmount Guangzhou, meaning the movement is the same as what you'd find in a Pagani Designs watch. The second hand sweeps ... Most likely, it's a DG3806, which go for around $40 here on eBay or through other vendors. The band it comes with is nice and comfortable leather, and very thick and well made. I am also very fond of the domed crystal on this watch. I love the design of it and the texture on the dial. It's good enough for a dressy outfit but still good for shorts and tshirts. The blue-colored hands really make it pop out in a good way. It's unique and unusual, especially in an age where 2/3 of the people walk around with apple watches. Overall, a great watch, but don't pay full price. Go for the bargain.

Snob watch collectors may turn up their noses at the name, but there is absolutely no better value in a mechanical watch than Stauer to be found anywhere. Expect a variation of up to thirty seconds a day in either direction and a power reserve less than Swiss mechanicals, but the Magnificat is an extremely stylish and reliable watch. Also be aware that although they're fully functional, the subdials are too small to be useful (practically impossible to read) since the face is smaller than most 40mm case watches. If all you want is a great looking watch with a sweeping second hand instead of the quartz once-per-second jerk, this is your best bet. Also be aware you can currently buy them new directly from Stauer for less than the cheapest pre-owned model here, so utilize that Best Offer ...
