Not the next best thing since sliced bread...
the learning dvd is very good and the pre-recorded call player is good to help you practice when away from a computer. the call I have not made up my mind on yet. While I am able to make the calls demonstrated on the dvd I have to say it is not impressing me as of yet. it is rather high pitched and there really is no way to lower the pitch but maybe just a tiny little bit. even when it is the deepest tone its still higher pitched then my flute and neither of those are anywhere near a good old Faulks canada goose call tone. now that is a deep canada goose tone. so far I am way more goosey sounding on my flute then this short reed but I have only been at it for a week or so. I'll keep playing with it but really I guess I'm not sold into thinking a short reed is the next best thing since sliced bread. time will tell. if all you need to do to call a goose is to make a cluck, double cluck and lay down call. well I can do that with my Faulks goose call, I will say it does take a rather large breath of air but its doable. I'm not sold yet....
