My old receiver was a pioneer so I thought it would be best to stay with the same brand but this one is newer and I can't get it to work with the surround sound or subwoofer either. I can't get the sound to work. It's probably great but I don't know what I am doing wrong. It didn't come with a remote or antenna.
I've had more advanced pioneer receivers but they came with the calibration mic. This one did not. I figured it out but still can't get all 7 channels to play. On my pioneer 302 there was a way to change it from the 5.1 to the 7.1 but I still haven't found any listening mode or setting that does make it a 7.1 or like my newer pioneer to switch it over. Did not have the Bluetooth adapter or antenna either. On the listing it says what's in the box so I expected these things. Then I realized it was a copy of what pioneer would have used to sell it. Not what he was selling. Between purchasing all it's missing components and this unit I should have bought the new 303 that I wanted. Lesson learned.
Has the flexibility we needed, in our case enough s-video inputs. Like the MCC automatic surround sound setup.
Component video appears to have video patterning with no visible advantage over s-video on our projection set-up.
Runs very hot even when idling. Overall we are satisfied with the unit.
