Great Item Condition, Thanks to Previous Owner's Wisdom to Remove Ni-Cd Batteries
This actually turned out to be a 204D, which has a precision +10 to -70 dB switched attenuator output. This makes it an excellent stand-alone oscillator for audio amplifier work. With 20 Ea. new 1/3 AA Ni-Mh cells assembled into four 6V, 350 mAhr batteries that fit where the original Ni-Cd batteries were, it can stand alone without grounding, etc. for low level input to modern audio equipment trouble shooting. `Oldie but goodie!
This unit is CLASSIC HP quality. After cleaning off 40 years accumulation of crud it did what it has always done - worked as HP advertised oh so many years ago. I have HP "stuff" from early 60's to fairly recent and the old stuff is absolutely no compromise quality. Reminds me of the dedication to the best that America once had and what HP was before Carly..
