My computer crashed - it would not even boot up - I removed the hard drive from the tower -plugged it into the vantec NexStar and BAM- just like that I was able to read everything on the old drive and copy it to my new computer- it is a terabyte Drive - I recovered all my I tunes library-and other saved music , all my photos, all my Microsoft office ( excel) documents . Does esxactly what it should
Bought this to be able to use optical drives as external and also to be able to test them without installing them in a machine. Burned Blu-Rays with two different BDR drives with no issues.
