Great Remote...A Must With The 4K LG HGTV

DISAPPOINTING AT BEST
This remote is very disappointing. I find that my DirecTV remote is still our go to remote most of the time. If you use your DVR features a great deal of the time, this remote will annoy you, especially trying to fast forward. The cursor is so difficult to control due to excessive jumping around the screen. Trying to figure out how far to advance is impossible due to the fact that you do not see scenes as you advance along the bar on the bottom of the screen. Also, we still cannot find a return to previous screen option which makes toggling back and forth difficult. Do not expect to receive any instructions about the features. You have to sit through one tutorial after another to familiarize yourself with options. The speak feature is convenient and very useful and the reason we purchased the Magic Remote.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Not all features work. Claims it is not compatible with tv [we will keep trying]
At this point it says it is not compatible with the tv [I ordered the same remote number the tv calls for]. Most basic functions work but it will not activate voice control and a few other items. It is a back up for a family member in assisted living so I will continue to try to make it work. It is very similar to the remote that came with the tv but a couple of buttons are in a different locations and some are marked differently. If I can get it to find this tv it would be a great deal. It really is magic.
This thing is nuts. You can just about say any command while holding the microphone button and it will do it. Such as change to HDMI 3 input, and then up comes the input selection; just point to the one with the magic laser pointer and click, there you are. It also works with Google Assistant. I haven't tried it with Alexa yet, but it integrated right into my Google with a simple pairing. It's worth the extra money, and this vendor has it at a bargain.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

LG Magic Remote is a winner!
Love the voice feature, which makes it a cinch to search for programs, actors, etc. on YouTube, etc. The controls on this Magic Remote are so much easier to find and use in the dark than those on the original LG remote my Smart TV came with. Much better ergonomically. It controls sound bar volume - so convenient. Very glad I purchased it!! Excellent Remote - Bad TV design.
The remote is just like the original. Problem is with LG design ... not the remote. You can only register 1 remote for the TV at a time. When registering the "new" replacement the old remote stopped working for the advance features (Icon on the screen, etc.) Re registering the old remote caused the features to not work on the replacement. Magic Remote.
It's a great replacement for the standard remote. I got it to work my Blu-Ray player and sound bar. I took some time to get it to work my Xfinity cable box. It works through the Cisco manufacture. It get's into more detailed adjustments of the TV. I also like the mouse pointer, and voice commands. LG could have done better
Some of the features that LG advertises sound great in theory but when you actually try to use them seems like they were just trying to tick a box. For example the integration with google photos, shows a very limited number of photos, there’s no way to see more and if you repeat the same command it gives you different photos every time. When using the voice commands while watching Netflix or other streaming apps, everything gets so slow that the experience is awful. The pointer actually seems very useful and it’s a lot easier to control than I thought, but so less tech savvy people get really frustrated trying to use it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Real-deal LG Magic remote, 2018 version.
This is a genuine LG MR18BA device (sans battery door). Lots of cheap “replacement” remotes are available that nearly look original, but sounds like most lack working microphone and air-mouse features. Works, pairs fine. Even without battery door, feels pretty good in hand. The universal programming works pretty well with TiVo. On-screen mouse function moves cursor by waving remote in air. Microphone can do searches (a bit flakey, but not remote’s fault). NOTE: only one remote at a time can be RF-paired with TV.
