An enertaining and yet an uncomfortable story of growing up.
Possibly among the worst choices of a title, this is actually a somewhat overboard but more than halfway accurate take on the process of early adolescence (eleven to fourteen), middle adolescence (fifteen to seventeen), and then moving into late adolescence (eighteen to somewhere in the twenties). My personal opinion is that they tried to stay too true to life in part of the story, not close enough to life in other parts of it, but overall, it was a well put together story with too many pauses and no real resolution. But even so, it was still worth it. Sexuality is somewhat both overplayed and underplayed at the same time, which really reflects real life, the evolution of friendship as you and your friends get older, and the violent underbelly of society is not avoided, and handling both at once is almost impossible but well handled here. This is not a kid's show, but for mature kids it might not be as bad a choice as a lot of recommended "kid safe" anime. Understanding that sometimes we do stupid things, and that we might have difficulties in trying to express ourselves-- that is the key story in this set. The version shown has the first and second seasons on one 16:9 DVD, and a lower budget latter followup on a second 4:3 ratio DVD. The writer and production staff might have tried too hard to be realistic and not to allow breakthroughs, although a few (very few) were allowed to take place.

Fun comedy with echi!
Ive read the manga ways back before is came out on anime and its pretty much the same from the manga if its your style comedy with echii :)
