    MOTO Barrage

Phone has the simplicity and durability of a MOTO flip phone, with some of the basic features of a Smart Phone. Single charge hold for most of my work week. Only gripe so far is that the vibrate feature is way too short in duration. Very good alternative to a Smart Phone if you have the tendency to drop and/or subject the phone to a rough work environment.

  • Top critical review

Worked good at first. Now it does not.

Worked good for a couple weeks. Kept good charge. Now it will just go from full charge to nothing in a matter of minutes. With both batteries. There was an SD card in the phone that I had to take out. It was getting hot while charging and kept asking if we wanted to put our data or something on the card. It doesn’t get hot since I removed the card. We have had this style phone fir years, as it’s all my husband will use. This is the first one that has ever done this. I’ve tried turning everything off and it still won’t hold charge. Something is zapping the batteries.

  • If you just need a good phone...

I live in an area with poor signal strength, so this is the phone for me. I need a phone that can take a beating, so this is the phone for me... it is practically indestructable. If I want to take photos I use a camera. If I want to browse the internet or send emails, I use a computer. This phone CAN take pictures, but the quality sucks. It can send texts, but it is a PIA. I don't care. I don't text and don't want to get them. I just need a phone that works. Got that? How is it for signal? Great. I took a 2000 mile boat trip on the rivers in the heart of America and very rarely did I come to a place I couldn't get a signal. Once in a while I got down to 1x, but mostly I had 3G. At home, if you take a new Android and stick it out the upstairs window you might get 1 bar of 4g. The Motorola has plenty of bars of 3G anywhere on the farm. How is it for durability? Drop it or throw it, no problem. Drop it in the creek, no problem if it is buttoned up. Battery life? Varies. If you have a good signal you can sometimes go for days without charging. Problems? Eventually the rubber side buttons can fall off. That eliminates the waterproofing and it might be a button you like. Pluses? My 90 year old Mom has had problems with coverage with her Old Folks Cellular phone, so I got her one of these. It is just as easy to use as the Old Folks phone, but has lots of bars. We'd go in a panic when she wouldn't answer the old phone, which didn't work sometimes for poor signal. If you want just a good phone, this is it. They make new ones that are probably just as good, but why pay 10x as much?

  • Good basic value. Happy with purchase.

Phone works well. Good rural connectivity. A bit bulky and screen is too small to use as a internet source but, works well, good battery life and, a dependable talk and text devise.

  • A continued great buy!

I bought myt first Barrage when they were available. Since then I bought two used ones which proved to be as good as the new model. I've always used the extended life batteries and have never had a problem with them except forgetting to put them on charge. I'm very hard on my equipment so I keep a spare handy.

  • Perfect Phone for Hubby

husband is not a smart phone user and really sort of rough on his previous flip phones so this military grade waterproof phone is the perfect fit for his lifestyle. Long battery life and flip phone size travels well with this trucker. Highly recommended for anyone.

  • Great, pretty bulletproof phone

I have been using this model for about 6 years... It's waterproof, fairly drop-break resistant (has survived ladder drop while working on edge of roof of house).... BUT doesn't withstand dropping out of holder and then running over it (that's how I lost last one). The battery life is adequate (a couple days). When it gets 'short' (needs daily charging), I spend $5 or so and get another one (I keep a spare in the drawer). Sure a lot cheaper than a "smart" phone !!

  • My husband's favorite phobne

We aren't smart enough to use Smartphones! This one is military rated, rugged and suits my husband extremely well - he's a logger, cowboy and it fits into his shirt or jeans pockets best. He has had several, the second and third bought online when this was no longer produced

  • "Tough and cheap old-school phone."

Want a cheap, tough, droppable phone that is a no frills CELL TELEPHONE with cheap batteries and power supply? This is it. Uses BN 70 or 71 batt. If it doesn't charge, check power supply first, have had 2 fail. Tough to open and heavy, but that's why it's tough to break.
