    I would not recommend this book for beginners as the recipes are hard to follow in the carryout phase of cooking. Having to refer back to section 1 or 2 or 3 is quite distracting, though the recipes are good. Instead leaving a space between step one and two just a very small circled number is designating each. The seller provided fast and safe shipping for this item.

  • A good basic primer to Chinese cooking

    This is a handy traditional hardcover Chinese cookbook which is helpfully geared to beginners. It includes supportive information and color photos. The cookbook explains using a wok, bamboo steamer, and cleaver. It shows how to chop ingredients. The recipes are for traditional chicken, beef, shellfish, and vegetables. There are also recipes for soup, and meat filled buns. While not the most modern recipes, they still are good, generally do not require very exotic ingredients, plus will get you started on Chinese cooking. Recommended.
