I had read cautions regarding installing a 7200 rpm drive in an older macbook that it may vibrate or cause excessive heat. In my case it is all untrue. It runs like a brand new computer and it's faster than it was new. I'm running Ubuntu 14.04 and couldn't be more pleased.
