Magnaflow resonator - not muffler perfect for Mitsubishi and Subaru
I purchased this to quieten down a horrible DC Sports exhaust on my car. Though it had a huge muffler body and a built in resonator, there is absolutely no sound dampening from either. Having used magnaflow in the past I measured my system and given the tight confines of the Lancer Evo/Ralliart Awd driveline I found this was the largest muffler I could add to the system. When I received the part I got to checking and found this is actually a resonator, and not a muffler. It did however fit the application very good, and was easy to install as the end pipes measure 3" inside diameter, so my 3" exhaust slid right in. Some things you should know if you are expecting the show polish of previous magnaflow products, don't. It was more like a shiny satin. The welds are not precision, kind of cobby . The body of the muffler itself was scratched and dented inside the box. The inner core was actually welded at an angle, but I made this work to my advantage to increase driveline clearance. And it just erased some of the dump truck drone I had on trailing throttle and under hard acceleration. It went from skull pounding, to ear shattering. Part throttle cruise and idle sounds really good, very deep no rasp. On Rev match shifts has a lovely snarl to it, very pleased with that. (Google videos of the Rhemus and Cosworth exhaust on an Evo x) This would be perfect to add to a large bodied magnaflow to tune the sound but don't use it for a muffler you will not be happy. It just doesn't have enough sound absorbtion material to it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Calm the loudness
The sound is amazing I have a g37 and went to a single 3inch pipe and was obnoxiously loud even with a resignator on so I wanted a muffler and this one really quieted down gives it a good deep throating noise overall it's quiet till you get on it and it gives you a little roarVerified purchase: YesCondition: New
