    A very good source for reading Gods words.

    All five volumes are easy to read and easy to understand. They are ideal for preparing for a sermon, teaching and just gaining more knowledge about the scriptures. I would recommend to all who wants to know more about Gods word and how to live a good Christian life.

    Easily understood

    The set of books that I recently purchased was for a gift for my son and his wife. I have had a set for years and use them as a primary source for daily personal study and lesson preparation. I use other source material of course but the comprehensive and thoroughness of McGee is tops. It’s plain and simple with no bent toward any particular denomination.

    Outstanding Commentary

    One of the best, if not the best, commentaries available. J Vernon McGee is one of the greatest bible scholars of our time. The wonderful combination of his grasp of the Bible as a whole paired with a commentary delivered in a format anyone can understand from layman to scholar. I remember listening to him on the radio and felt as though I were listening to a wise father or grandfather who had studied the Bible for a lifetime.

    Dr. McGee used his scholarly learning and put it in simple layman terms that we might also understand the scriptures as he did. I listened for years and bought the paperback singles along the way but the 5 volume set is one of my more used resources when questions arise.

    I use this for my bible study. I like Dr. McGee's commentary. Although, this is an "older" set of books, the commentary is still very valid in today's world.
