    My new EDC

    It is the right size to carry. It is of good design ( axis lock). It made from good materials ( D2 blade steel and G-10 handle material). It comes at a good price. (Around $50). Benchmade builds a better knife - but at twice the price. The blade came razor sharp - shaving sharp! I like the drop point blade profile - clean without those silly serrations. This has become my edc knife of choice.

    SOG Terminus XR lock

    Overall I think the SOG terminus XR is a decent edc knife. Build quality is okay the XR lock is a strong locking mechanism and the d2 steel blade is durable. The action of the knife is very smooth and doesn’t take long to break in. With that being said the pocket clip is not very good and weirdly sticks out from the outside of your pocket. The blade had rust spots on it when I received the knife and the blade was very dull nearly blunt. Upon sharpening the knife to get an edge on the blade I found the blade edge was not symmetrical. For the price I kind of expected this but at this same time was kind of annoyed. Probably won’t waste my money on another SOG product.

    Other options work better for me

    I'm no expert, and certainly don't have a YouTube channel devoted to knife reviews. Being said, this knife, with it's solid build, good steel, and deep pocket carry doesn't work that great for me. I know I used to a liner or a frame lock and the "axis lock" will become second nature in another month. What won't be fixed is the smoothness of the handle. When I'm using it in water or wastewater it slides around too easily even with textile gloves on. I'm giving it another 3 months, but then I'll probably go back to my cheapo Kershaw that I can sharpen everynight. Good quality, just not for my dumbass.

    Decent quality knife

    Not a bad knife overall. The locking system is similar to the Benchmade axis lock but certainly not as smooth.
