Not completely satisfied with packaging. It was described accurately but unfortunately, seller didn’t add any packaging material padding to protect the record and therefore creased corners on cover and blames it on the mail carrier. Every seller that I ordered from that uses protective padding inside the mailer, has protected the record and sleeve cover when mail carrier delivers it. I would pay any seller extra money to use packing materials to ensure safe delivery.

STUNNING IMAGE ON HDR-SR7
The most important feature of any camcorder is the image quality, and the HDR-SR7 tops the charts. When I first connected this to my HD television, I could not believe the image quality even in normal interior room lighting. It surpassed anything coming over the television, even the HD programming! Outdoors, it stood up to the images from cameras costing 5000 dollars. Last summer, our film production company shot a two hour feature length film in Palm Beach County called Turkles. I used this camcorder to shoot all the Behind-the-Scenes footage. At times, I shot some of the same footage as the main camera. When the director saw the footage from this tiny camera, he asked if he could use it in the film because some of it looked better than the footage from the main ... The most important feature of any camcorder is the image quality, and the HDR-SR7 tops the charts. Shooting HD video on a hard drive is great. You never need to worry about bringing tapes, or losing them, or worrying that the moisture in the morning air is going to bind up the tape transport. Get an optional eight hour battery and you can shoot all day on a single charge. Need better audio? Sony makes a wireless mike that mates with this camera and uses the camera battery for power. Just snap it onto the hot shoe, and the audio and power connections are made with no messy wires. Even the mike itself has no wires dangling from it, and the two AAA lithium cells run the mike for six hours. You can buy AAA batteries at your corner store if you run out on location. Low light capability is excellent for a camcorder in this price range; in fact I haven't seen a cleaner image in any camcorder under 1000 dollars, bar none. Video noise is very minimal, and not even visible in normal office lighting conditions. Blacks are black, whites are white, and all the other colors hold up down into dim room lighting if you use manual white balance. It even gets true colors under fluorescent office lights! All controls such as focus, exposure, white balance and iris can be set to manual or automatic, or a mixed combination of both. If there is anything I could change on this camcorder it would be to add a manual focus ring instead of the small manual focus knob. Even so, you can dial in the right focus either visually or by using the digital distance readout, as long as you can estimate distance in meters. Set focus on manual, pre-focus for 3 meters, and everything in a dark room stays in focus at wide angle as you move around with no hunting and pecking. The camera is small enough to carry on vacation, and good enough to use commercially. The only problem you'll have is trying to convince your client this camera can produce better images than the shoulder mounted cameras of only a few years back. Until, of course, they see the finished product.

I got this mainly for “night shot” for paranormal investigation filming it seems to work great paired with an IR light and not to bad by itself so I would say it’s definitely worth it to look into purchasing one of these camcorders or two or three for that matter .. 6th Realm Paranormal Investigation & Research ..

Sony Handycam HDR-SR7 Review - Awesome HD Camcorder!
This is an absolutely great HD Camcorder. If you have a HD set-up & are debating getting a HD camcorder, I highly recommend this one. I just recently sold my HDR-SR7 for the 100GB HDR-SR7. This 60GB HDR-SR7 is just as well equipped and a bit cheaper now! The clarity of recording in HD is astounding. Clear, vivid pictures in every last detail, and there are a lot of "details" recording in 1080 HD. If you have ever watched television in 1080 HD, just imagine your own videos looking like what you see on TV! It will store up to 13 hours of HD video at the highest picture quality, but if your going to record over 4 hours straight in HD, get a second battery. It will also record in Standard Definition. I have a better camera that I use for most all of my digital still images but this does take ... This is an absolutely great HD Camcorder. At a very minimum you need a HDTV in order to get the full effect of HD playback out of this camcorder, and a Mini HDMI Type C connector to connect it to your HD compatible TV (not included). CONS: The Sony Mini HDMI Type C connector will be anywhere from $30-$60 depending on the length cable you need. The included software for editing video from AVCHD format could be a little beefier. Although now there are other software solutions now such as Sony's Vegas 8 or other third party software such as Pinnacle Studio 11 Ultimate, Nero 7 Ultra Edition and others, a better version should be included with such an expensive camcorder! One of the most important things you want out of camera, that it does what you need to happen to accomplish what you need, (not want) and I believe that many will agree. Anyway let's take a look at the SR7 60gb camcorder and why I value it: 1. I get good picture quality, 2. It's not conspicuous. 3. It has good stabilization, 4. mic & headphone inputs and other connections. Unless your shooting a video where the camcorder requires little to no movement or your doing a live broadcast, why would anyone decide to get a different camcorder? Good for ghost hunters who need night vision.
not the best quality camcorder for the price but great for ghost hunters who need night vision. Build in hard drive makes things super easy. Charging dock is annoying and takes up a lot of extra space when they could have just made a small battery charger.
