This Philips DVD recorder supports writing to DVD+R/RW and will play back DVD-R/RW and CD-R/RW media. Component video inputs let the Philips DVDR985 record high quality analog feeds while the iLink port allows this Philips DVD player to copy data from digital camcorders. The Philips DVDR985 records in resolutions of upto 720x480 pixels, using the MPEG compression format with HQ/SP options. Any recordings made by this Philips DVD recorder are playable in most DVD players. This Philips DVD player is very user friendly with its informative front display and also comes with a universal remote for TV control.
