THQ and developer Volition's answer to Grand Theft Auto returns for another over-the-top outing with Saints Row 2. After being betrayed by your former crew and left to whither away in a vegetative state, you awaken with a singular purpose: to reclaim your territory one brick at a time. The setting is once again the fictitious city of Stilwater, where you'll rebuild the Saints gang and eliminate all rivals who dare lay claim to your turf. You'll now be able to customize your character in an assortment of ways, from modifying his (or her) appearance to decorating "cribs" to acquiring the latest and greatest in criminal couture. The action is viewed from a third-person perspective as you explore a free-roaming city filled with vehicles, pedestrians, and police officers. Weapons range from high-powered tools of destruction, such as a mini-gun, rocket-propelled grenade launcher, and flame-thrower, to offbeat armaments like a stun gun, chainsaw, and defibrillator.<br><br>Previous visitors to Stilwater will notice the city has undergone several community-wide changes. Stilwater has grown in size and offers more things to see and do. The powerful Ultor Corporation has spent a considerable fortune in revitalizing the once stagnant city, and the business will become as much a hostile threat as the rival gangs you're looking to remove from power. New modes of transportation include motorcycles, boats, and aircraft. In addition to the main storyline, which features over 40 missions, Saints Row 2 includes various activities and "diversions" that involve racing, drug trafficking, going on rampages, and more. Combat also offers more options, from using human shields to firing weapons with precision targeting. The latter's "fine aim" technique switches the default perspective to an over-the-shoulder view. Saints Row 2 further distinguishes itself by including two-player cooperative action throughout the main campaign as well as competitive multiplayer modes via Xbox Live. In addition to the game, this collector's edition includes a poster, art book, money clip, and custom-designed, 512MB USB drive filled with videos, desktop wallpapers, and more.

Shoot things with other things!
The game is fun. It's not as cinematic or polished as GTA4, but it is a viable competitor. If you've played the original Saints Row you may be used to the idea - open world, run around, shoot things, +etc. However, in Saints Row 2 you can do these things ... only more of them. The customization isn't perfect but is fairly good, and there's a lot of things to buy [and shoot] and cars to drive [and crash]. And airplanes/boats. The multiplayer is OK ... it seemed laggy and irritating when I played it, though. Co-op campaign is a pretty cool feature. I got this on eBay because I wanted it, but didn't want to pay more than $40, and in retrospect it was a good choice. The game's good, but it's not great - if you want to have some fun driving a manure tank and shooting crap onto houses, though, ... The game is fun. I love this Game!!! It is a super playable gta engine game!! The driving is fun and doable an absolute must and as an added bonus the cops aren't super frantic about gang shootings!!! The game is chock full of free roam adventures and missions and side missions to keep everyone happy!! The customizing is super detailed for the character therefore you make tons of beautiful and realistic characters. This one has the advantage over the original of female characters!! The clothes you buy are even customizable! As you earn respect in side games, you earn the right to do missions for your gang. I decided to buy the collectors tin for the fun goodies but i love the map on the reverse of the poster!! The bullet hard drive is a wonderful perk and cool!!! If your getting the game invest in the ... I love this Game!!! It is a super playable gta engine game!! just like the first saints row this game offers a wide range of missions, activities, and much more that you can do. However this time they makers of the game went above and beyond adding many new features such as the ability to use hand to hand combat while still holding your weapon and the ability to steal helecoptors and plains rather than only being ably to blow them up like in the first game. over all this is a 5 out of 5 stars game. fun to play and will offer months of play time.just like the first saints row this game offers a wide range of missions, activities, and much more that you can do. ok what can I say about this game ok fist the bad. the grafix can be a bit choppy sometimes like the face models but I had so much fun playing this game I did not think to much about it you can customize the way you look the way you fight and the vehicles the sound is great and you can get a good 30 to 40 hr of game play if you can get the game get it ok I say 1 to 10 it,s a 9
