  • Great movie, this version is a high quality print

    This movie has been in the Public Domain for several years but the video quality has been at best abysmal. Based on a play written by two former journalists from Chicago in the late 1920's it's been said that the characters are loosely based upon individuals that they knew. It's been remade several times, the first with the 1940 Cary Grant version where there is a gender swap called "His Girl Friday" frequently listed as both one of the best movies ever and one of the best movies with Cary Grant. It was remade a second time in 1974 with Walter Matthew and Jack Lemmon as the two primary leads and if you're a fan of other works with these two leads you should consider watching that version as well and watching this version you can easily see which would play which part in the later ...
