I am breathing great in the mornings. Love it.
Since I started using every night during sleep it has stopped my morning hacking and coughing. I moved to Knoxville TN 10 years ago and it feels like I did when I smoked 2 packs a day 30 years ago. I have allergies and it is all year around for me here in TN. This past 2 weeks has been awesome. I will not stop using this unit. Real quick on noise from fan. It has 4 settings. Low, med, high, and Turbo. Bottom 3 are quiet. I find it very effective on high, but do enjoy the turbo as it covers any noise going to the bathroom during the night, or getting ready for work. My wife is a light sleeper and Turbo covers me gathering my clothes. Awesome product.

I really like this unit. It is very quiet on all settings except the highest setting. My two cents: If you must run it on high, then you have bigger issues than the sound of the unit on high. I have three dogs and it never goes above the second fan speed. Really like the auto feature, which samples the air and adjusts the fan speed depending on the air quality. I fully expect to purchase a second one in a couple of months. The only downside I can mention is that the replacement filters are a little pricey. That said, don't fall for the lifetime HEPA filter. I like having to put a new filter in every year to ensure proper function. I would highly recommend!

So far so good
Have not had this for very long but so far so good. We have 4 small dogs and they generate a lot of dust and debris in the air. I've noticed the twinkling's in the air have diminished significantly. We keep it on "Auto" so it adjusts itself as needed. I also noticed the other evening while cooking diner that it had kicked itself into high mode as the smell from cooking had permeated the room. The smell seemed to dissipate more quickly than I remember in the past. I feel like we made a good purchase.

Works well for asthmatics
It is quiet on the 3 lower settings but noisy on the top setting, but one gets used to it. The best news is that when I use it on high I wake up without a runny nose or cough. Well worth the money. I gave my housekeeper one for her asthmatic daughter and husband. Both have said the Winix has helped them a lot also.

Excellent Unit and Quiet. Washable filters. Very Pleased.
I really like this unit. Comes in sleek black color, and even after 2-3 years I still haven't purchased a new filter yet. The screen layer and the carbon filter can be vacuumed clean. I recently washed the paper filter, and it seems to have kept the change filter light off. The unit is whisper quiet. It's so quiet that I don't even notice that it's on. With fans I have to turn the TV louder to compensate. With this unit, I probably wouldn't have to compensate unless I turn it on high, but even then it's not bad at all. If you leave it on auto, it has a light sensor that turns the unit off when you turn the lights off for bed or leave for the day. I thought that was really cool, but perhaps it should be running all day. I keep it on auto for a large room and it keeps it on the low setting. They have a similar one at Costco for cheaper, but I believe that one doesn't have washable filters. Pay extra for this one and it'll probably save you money in the long run. Read full review
