    Works great! But flimsy and difficult to install...

    The concept is great and when I finally got it installed, it worked beautifully. However, it is of flimsy construction. The aluminum gauge it's made from is just a little more ridged than a pop can making if very delicate and easily damaged. My new dryer exhaust and the one it replaced has a female pipe and the wall exhaust pipe is also a female fitting. The product comes with one female end and one male end. I had to un-crimp the female end so as to adapt it to a male end in order to install it. don't know if that setup is standard or unique but it would be great if the kit came with the parts (adapters) to make both ends male or female. The second thing is that once the vent periscope is attached to either the wall exhaust pipe or the dryer exhaust, it is difficult to maneuver and align ...

    Answer for tight dryer location

    This whirlpool "telescope" dryer vent was the answer for allowing a stackable gas dryer to be placed closer to the vent outlet without crimping a standard dyer vent hose. It is adjustable which allows proper matchup with the dryer vent to the wall outside vent opening.

    Dryer Exhaust vent Periscope Kit adjustable from 0 to 5". This is a great item if you want your dryer to be positioned close to the wall. You can adjust the box so that it will match your dryer vent to the exhaust dryer vent thru the outside wall to the outdoors. The cost of the unit is about the same as an exhaust hose, and it is the only thing you need if your dryer is close to the wall, and within 0 to 5 inches from the exhaust vent. This solved my problem for my wife's new Maytag dryer. Good luck with your project.
