  • John D. MacDonald--A novelist worthy of great praise!

John D. MacDonald published over 70 books and up to 500 short stories before he died at age 70 in 1986. He wrote a fine series of mystery and adventure novels featuring the characters Travis McGee and his pal Mercer. The stories take place in and around Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. "The Brass Cupcake" was his first published novel in 1950, some years before he wrote the Travis McGee series. He continues to earn praise from millions of readers and lasting respect from fellow authors. Many of his books including "The Brass Cupcake" have been reissued recently in new editions and bindings.

  • GREAT MYSTERY NOVEL

John D MacDonald was one of America's greatest writers. His books, though dated, 50's thru the 70's, are still pertinent and delve into issues that are still with us in the 21st century. If you like Florida, he led a the way for the likes of Randy Wayne White. JDM was prolific, but each reading leaves the reader looking forward to the next book to read. His books are hard to find in libraries and came before ebooks, thus finding them and reading them is that much more fun. I highly recommend this book and all JDM books. The reader will be pleasantly surprised.
