Item was as described + quick to ship. Seller was quick to respond to my questions and even sent a pic (that I saw after his initial response) to verify, which was very kind. I'm very pleased with my item and would work with this seller again.

Over The Air TV Time Shift

These older HDD recorders really do the job unless you are a real antenna head and need more than 160Gb of storage. The editing is a little tacky and the buttons are somewhat difficult to navigate to do what you want to do. But for something that is maybe 7 years old in technology is still a good buy. Picture playback is very good. Seems like a well thought out machine not sure how an upgrade would work out but the 160Gb HD seems very adequate. The DVD part is a little slow but works well.

    Be Aware!

Although it still works very well, but it's a very old model, so it can only record on a single layer DVD R or DVD RW. Will not work for double layer. However, it's still a rare, popular product in North America, just because so far we can't find anything better than this one. One more thing: if the HDD of your model has been upgraded to higher level than 160 Gb, then it may collapse sooner or later, and there's no way to repair it anymore.

  • Great Non-Subscription DVR/DVD Recorder!!!

If you are looking for a subscriptionless DVR this is your unit. The editing features are awesome and picture quality from the digital tuner is crystal clear. Being able to pause live TV is a very nice function. Its easy to dub things from the hard drive to DVD or vis versa. I love mine so much I have bought a second one. The only reason I didn't give this unit an excellant rating were for a few minor things. The buttons on the remote are small and make it hard to use, especially in the dark watching a movie or TV. I have an issue with the auto program of the digital tuner. It locks up when its gets to channel 135. However you can manually add the digital channels contrary to what the manual states. And for some reason after two months the clock wasn't keeping accurate time but after ...

  • Overall Good

PROS: Best recording quality is acceptable; up to 36 pre-programmable recordings; when setting up program recordings you can key in the numbers you want instead of having to utilize the tedious approach of scrolling through using the up and down buttons; can watch any recorded title while recording another (including the one being recorded); easy to edit out commercials; easy to skip by commercials when watching recorded titles (skip time, forward and backward, is programmable - very nice); easy to delete titles with warnings; can split one title into two separate titles (in case you record more than one show on one title); pause live TV (but your channels have to be aligned); no matter how many titles you're in the middle of watching it remembers where you left off so when you go back to ...

  • DVDR3576H, a little disappointed.

This is a good DVR, but I'm dissappointed that it doesn't have the automatic backround recording that the previous model(DVDR3455H)had and the Magnavox H2160MW9 has (I have both of them too). If you don't need a USB feature, I would recommend the Magnavox version so you would have the automatic backround recording feature. It's also less expensive. You can still do backround recording with this unit, but it's just not automatic. Once you've started recording you can't jump around on channels either. If you use the pause Live TV feature and decide later that you want to keep the program, you can't. You must know up front that you want to record the program and actually hit the record button at the beginning of the program. That being said, this is a very nice unit and a great deal for the ...
