About this product

Product Information

A third-person action RPG, Dual Hearts tells the tale of Rumble and Tumble, an unlikely pairing of a young adventurer and a mythical creature known as a baku. While on a quest to retrieve the legendary Dream Stone, Rumble encounters Tumble, who is in fact on a quest of his very own. As ordered by the Queen of the Dreamworld, Tumble must safeguard nine ancient keys, whose combined powers ensure that nightmares remain sealed within the Temple of Dreams. The hapless creature loses the keys and the only way to recover them is to invade the dreams of people in the real world. Thus, the duo must seek out those whom they suspect have inadvertently become hosts to each key. While wondering around Sonno Island, players are free to speak to its many denizens or acquire items that will prove useful on their journey. As players wander about the island, time will slowly pass, changing from day to night and back again.

When inside a person's dream however, players will be challenged to solve puzzles, while fighting off enemies and navigating the many platform-style obstacles that litter their path. Rumble is capable of wielding two weapons at any one time -- one in each hand. And depending on the type of weapon currently equipped, he'll be able to execute a varied selection of combination and charged attacks. Weapons will also level-up over time, allowing players to dole out greater damage later in the game. During battle, players can lock-on to an enemy in much the same vain as the The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Tumble on the other hand, offers more passive resistance, refilling Rumble's health and proving a noble, if somewhat unconventional steed that can dash or fly around the many environments. He is capable of performing a rudimentary butt-stomp attack, however. Certain abilities expend Esamons -- little floating bug-like creatures -- when used. Additional Esamons can be acquired by killing enemies, and even kept in reserve in Tumble's Tummy Meter.

An abundance of trinkets can be obtained when in the dream state, and include Dream Energy, Dream Rings and Gold Esamons. The Dream Energy grants access to different areas of the Temple of Dreams, while Gold Esamons can be traded for useful equipment. But the main objective is to acquire the key hidden within, guarded by a boss character. Collecting all of the items within each of the resident's dreams (the game keeps track of the percentage of goodies already found) will reward players with a surprise.

  • Great Game

This game mixes fighting, exploration, collecting, buildup of weapons and heroic deeds. It is basically easy, but is littered with many challenging fights as well as strategizing. The fighting is easy to master and is in real time. If you like Zelda and Kingdom Hearts you will like this too! It is very colorful and the music is great. The only problem I had with it, was that is became sometimes blurry in certain dreams and that was annoying.

  • fun to play but lacking the usual Atlus flair.

The game is good to play and the graphics are good for the time the game came out. It is a high quality game and is not bad in any way. Its just not a game you would expect to see from Atlus. The game doesnt carry the Atlus look and feel. And the reason why I bought the game is because it had the Atlus name on it. But it turned out well considering that it was a good buy and I do not regret it at all. I would have to go ahead and come to my conclusion. I would rate it a buy.

  • Great Atlas Classic

I use to have the demo for this game years ago. I'm so happy to play the real version now. Game arrived quick and in great condition.
