Great price, excellent speed, Solid item. I have 4 of these in RAID5. they work great. I have also installed a couple in other people's PC's without problems. I did receive one DOA a while back but returning it was hassle free. probably a bad controller b/c The mechanical build is excellent.

Bought before -- larger TB is more stable
If you have the money go for the larger TB solutions. 1 2 3 TB get overwritten more frequently and I've had two die (fortunately had cloud backup). Based on industry and manufacturers, when you have more space there's less overwriting of old data and they last longer. So 4TB and larger are the way to go. This is my second unit amd first is working fine.

Reliable storage
Seagate HDDs have been very reliable. I'm using this in a RAID5 NAS along with 3 other identical drives. I also have two other RAID5 NAS's with the same drives. One RAID5 indicated a drive had failed so I bought this as a replacement and the array rebuilt with zero problems. I tested the "bad" Seagate drive and it passed with zero errors so the RAID5 mis-reported it. I'll keep that drive ready as a spare if needed. I have no qualms about relying on Seagate drives for important data storage. in all, I have 55 terabytes of Seagate hard drives online.Seagate HDDs have been very reliable.
