    Great Replacement board for the Inspiron 531S

    I purchased this mother board since mine went bad out of nowhere. It was the exact replacement for my Inspiron 531S mini tower, The board performs well and operates well for everyday PC use.

    Excellent replacement for a computer system that had same mobo in it.

    My boss's wife brought their home PC in for me to fix. I broke the whole rig down into pieces and tested each on a working PC that I had on the shelf here at work. Everything passed, power, memory, drives, video, CPU. When I took the CPU from the working system and moved it and the heat sink over to the boss's rig, it failed to POST. This lead me to believe the MOBO on the boss's rig had given up the ghost. I went out and specifically purchased the exact some mobo that was in his rig, got it in, plugged in the CPU, mem, power and it POSTed right up. Put the whole kit-n-kaboodle back inside the case added in the drives tied off the wires and the boss and his wife were right back up and running and were VERY happy.

    Simple install.

    I had to purchase this motherboard because of a bad BIOS flash. I was upgrading a friend's PC and tried to flash the BIOS to the latest DELL revision. I downloaded and installed the latest BIOS flash .exe; the program executed without error and even reported that the flash was successful but when the PC rebooted the BIOS was trash. This motherboard came to me in great condition and flashed to the latest revision. Simple processor and RAM swap, new thermal paste and then installed into case. PC booted and ran without issue. Upgraded PC to Windows 8 from Vista Home. PC is running great and friend is very happy.
