John Wayne (Marion Michael Morrison) "The Duke"
John Wayne was one of the most interesting characters of the century. His movies portrayed him as an honorable man, family man with values and many times a hero. According to his books, he carried a dismay that he was turned down for armed services and so in turn, portrayed the fighting man to show what others did that he could not do. Many think that he was a drunkard and a womanizer. He did drink and smoke, he was wronged by his first wife according to many books and carried that hurt throughout his life. He loved his children, was active in their lives and even involved them in the movie business. I've been intrigued by him, both on screen and real life for many years and have an extensive collection of not only his movies, but pictures, memorabilia and books on his real life. ...
