First and last time I will buy Walthers products. Instructions were terrible; the pit was out of round, the brass strips that make contact with the brass rings are a pain to line up and stay lined up. I’m still struggling to get this unit motorized and lined up correctly. Either I can get the track electrified or the turntable partially working, not both at the same time

Basically a good unit for the value. The one drawback is the copper contacts for rail power. Very very poor design. Hard to keep solid contact so as not to lose track power. Unless you are very good at soldering, it is some what difficult to solder tiny track power wires to the inside of the brass rings and underside of the rails, and be confident that they stayed in place when assembling. Once the large gear, the brass rings and spacer are in place, there is no way for sure to know if everything stayed put, except with a "meter". Fortunately all is well with mine.

I motorized this unit and it does not work well. The plastic base was wrapped and the bridge binds and gets stuck. sanding and tweaking did not work. Do not waste your money on this one!

This product is well built and easy to install. Very realistic. Nice addition to my layout. I would highly recommend to some building a yesteryear layout.
